Karen Armstrong

As this transition has come into my life, a few of my friends have made recommendation for scholastic theology books that I might be interested in.  My good friend Sarah suggested that I look into Karen Armstrong, a writer in the field of comparative religion

I began reading Armstrong's famous book, The History of God, just a few days ago.  I am already really enjoying the careful and thorough analysis of the Jewish traditions.  The book covers the historical movement of the Abrahamic religions, and offers insight into the differences between the issues that are important to modern Christianity and how they would have been seen in the very different cultural context of the Old Testament.

I have also picked up her book, Buddha, a biography of sorts and her newer book, A Case for God.  I'm thoroughly enjoying her comprehensive but still very approachable writing style.
